Getting Your Scottish Terrier Puppy Home Safely

We understand that bringing your new Scottish Terrier puppy home is an exciting milestone. We offer several delivery options to ensure your puppy arrives safely and comfortably, whether you're located in California or elsewhere in the United States.

Delivery Options

Option 1: In-Person Pickup (Recommended)

We highly recommend picking up your puppy in person when possible. This allows you to:

• Meet your puppy's parents and see where they were raised
• Receive hands-on guidance about care and feeding
• Ask questions and get to know us personally
• Begin bonding with your puppy immediately
• Receive all documentation and supplies directly

Location: Our breeding facility is located in California. Exact address provided upon reservation.

Cost: No additional charge

What to Bring: A secure carrier or crate, blankets, and any supplies you'd like for the journey home

Option 2: Ground Transport

For families within driving distance but unable to pick up in person, we can arrange ground transport through a professional pet transportation service.

• Door-to-door service available
• Climate-controlled vehicles
• Experienced pet handlers
• Regular updates during transport
• Typically used for deliveries within California and neighboring states

Cost: Varies based on distance (typically $200-$500)

Timeline: Usually 1-2 days depending on distance

Option 3: Flight Nanny Service (Recommended for Long Distance)

For families located outside of California or far from our location, we offer flight nanny service. This is our preferred method for long-distance deliveries.

• Your puppy travels in-cabin with a professional flight nanny
• Personal care and attention throughout the journey
• Puppy is hand-delivered to you at your nearest major airport
• Updates and photos during travel
• Less stressful than cargo shipping
• Same-day delivery to most major U.S. cities

Cost: Typically $500-$800 depending on destination

Requirements: You must pick up your puppy at the airport (we'll coordinate flight details with you)

Option 4: Cargo Shipping (Not Recommended)

While we can arrange cargo shipping if absolutely necessary, we do not recommend this option as it can be stressful for puppies. We only consider this option under specific circumstances and with appropriate weather conditions.

Delivery Process Timeline

2-3 Weeks Before Delivery

• We'll contact you to discuss delivery options
• Finalize delivery method and date
• Provide final payment instructions
• Send preparation checklist for your puppy's arrival

1 Week Before Delivery

• Confirm delivery details and timing
• Final health check by our veterinarian
• Prepare all documentation and supplies
• Send you final photos and videos

Delivery Day

• Final payment due before puppy leaves our care
• Puppy receives final health check
• You receive all documentation including:
  • Health certificate
  • Vaccination records
  • Microchip information
  • AKC registration papers
  • Health guarantee
  • Care instructions
  • Food samples and feeding schedule
• Puppy starter kit with toys and comfort items

What's Included with Delivery

Regardless of delivery method, your puppy comes with:

• Complete health records and veterinary health certificate
• Up-to-date vaccinations appropriate for age
• Deworming treatments
• Microchip (registered to you)
• AKC registration application
• Written health guarantee
• Puppy care guide and feeding instructions
• Food samples (enough for transition period)
• Comfort items with familiar scents
• Toy and blanket
• Lifetime breeder support

Preparing for Your Puppy's Arrival

Before your puppy arrives, make sure you have:

• Puppy-proofed your home
• Purchased necessary supplies (crate, food bowls, collar, leash, etc.)
• Selected a veterinarian and scheduled first appointment
• Arranged time off work for the first few days
• Prepared a quiet, safe space for your puppy

Payment for Delivery

• Delivery fees are separate from the puppy purchase price
• Payment for delivery is due before the puppy leaves our care
• We accept cash, certified check, or bank transfer
• All costs will be discussed and agreed upon in advance
